Psychology Practice in the Time of COVID-19
COVID-19 has presented many challenges to practice owners and solo practitioners alike. There are challenges in our personal lives—working from home, dealing with financial stresses and contingency planning, transitioning to telehealth and retaining clients, and attracting new referrals not to mention supporting and leading our staff. Don’t do all of this alone. There are some changes that will be temporary but there are others that may change us forever as people and business owners and practitioners. Some of us may not make it as business owners. More than ever guidance and support in securing a future for your practice is vital. Getting the most out of digital health including practice management software, secure messaging, and telehealth; implementing clinical effectiveness initiatives such as outcome measures and making sure your business model is sustainable and able to grow and rise to the challenges ahead when we move from crisis to recovery. Many things that we value will remain gold standard such as strong personal relationships with our referrers, diversification of income sources, a mindset that is determined as well as collaborative and open to new ideas. I hope these resources will help you in your journey into these challenging times.
